When you hear Urk, people automatically think of fresh fish. And that's right, they are very good at that in Urk! Urk has one of the largest fish auctions in Western Europe and on Saturdays fresh fish is baked and eaten everywhere. Want to experience it up close? On Friday around 2:15 PM it is possible to watch the auction of, for example, eel. But Urk is not only nice for eating a fish, you can also enjoy great shopping, staying overnight in a B&B and of course the Ginkiestocht.
With the Ginkiestocht you walk with a guide through the different alleys of Urk, the guide will tell you about the rich history of Urk, the sights and of course the best stories. You can also do the tour yourself, but with a guide it is a totally different experience!
