Unesco World Heritage Schokland
Since 1995, Schokland has been a UNESCO World Heritage site, a unique combination of nature and cultural history. From prehistory to the reclamation, there is evidence that people have lived and worked on the island for all those years. Everything shows that Schokland was an island, through the landscape and of course through the beautiful old church and the lighthouse keeper's house. Over the years, several bridal couples have said 'I do' in the old church.
In addition to the many hiking trails, there is also a museum where the history of Schokland, about the origin and disappearance of the island, is told and depicted. Throughout the year, various (temporary) exhibitions can be seen. At Restaurant Schokland, you can enjoy the surroundings with a cup of tea and a delicious pastry. For the many activities, look here.
